Seeing Double

grinch

It's pretty common for cartoonists to come up with similar or even identical ideas.  It happens quite a bit actually.  It's a little more rare to have the same idea and have them run on the same day - which is what happened for tomorrow (or today 12/7/12, depending on when you're reading this).  My comic and Glenn McCoy's "The Flying McCoy's" panel both have a panel depicting The Grinch waiting to use a porta potty with a caption that plays on the line from the original television special, … [Read more...]

Fasten your seat belts, tighten your weave and put your dentures someplace safe because what I'm about to tell you is going to blow you away... A survey in a recent edition of Better Homes and Gardens asked its readers:  "If you were stranded on a deserted island and could bring only one luxury item, what would it be?" Do you know what the top 10 most common answers were? 1) matches 2) blankets and pillows 3) a stylish t-shirt 4) intimidating pet clothes:  here, here and … [Read more...]

525,600 miiiiinutes x 3

As of today, that's how long Argyle Sweater has been in syndication.  Yep,  3 years ago today, The Argyle Sweater was born into the domain of newsprint. Who knows? But I know this:  PUNS OF STEEL, The Argyle Sweater's newest collection of comics is now available online and in … [Read more...]

The Best Part of Waking Up

is actually waking up - if you're Charlie Sheen. Yeah, considering Chuck's reputation, it was no surprise that he was back in the news recently.  As various news outlets reported, after a hearty night of partying (which allegedly included, you guessed it - porn stars and cocaine) Charlie was rushed to the E.R.  He was quickly released from the hospital and is now, reportedly, undergoing in-home treatment. Now, you're probably asking yourself two things:  "Scott, how do you get such … [Read more...]

Of the thousands of entries in the Argyle Sweater Caption Contest, a winner has been selected! Before announcing the top 6 along with the winner, I'd like to thank everyone who entered. There were tons of great captions and it was incredibly difficult to pick just one. I realize that no one caption will satisfy everyone there will never be a consensus on which caption is best or funniest because, as we've all know, humor is subjective. However, I think the winning caption has three … [Read more...]
